Welcome to Siam Thai Food. Thai food the way it’s cooked at home, tucked away in a side street off Panormou.
Marianna and Thodoris met while working at the same café. Not long after they got together, Marianna cooked him the Thai food she grew up eating at home. It was a fiery Som Tam, pounded in a mortar, and Thodoris didn’t need a second bite to make up his mind. Flavours like these couldn’t stay a secret shared by just a few people in Greece. With their savings, and before either of them had turned 30, they opened Siam Thai Food. The recipes come from Marianna’s Thai mother, the dishes she cooked at home for years. The two of them don’t call themselves chefs. They don’t invent dishes; they cook the traditional ones, true to how they’re eaten in Thailand and never adjusted for local tastes. Some ingredients still come straight from Thailand. The space is simple and unpretentious, with an open kitchen that sends its aromas to your table before the food arrives. If you’re not sure where to start, just ask. They love explaining what you’re eating, how it’s eaten, and why in Thailand a meal is something close to a ritual.

Nothing here is merely “inspired by.” These are the recipes a Thai mother cooked at home, brought unchanged into the restaurant kitchen.

The dishes stay true to tradition. They aren’t adapted or simplified for local tastes. This is how they’re eaten in Thailand, and this is how they’re served here.

Top-quality ingredients, some brought straight from Thailand, because certain flavours simply have no substitute.

In a small, unpretentious space, the kitchen is open and the aromas reach your table before the food does. It feels like eating in someone’s home.
